Old Haul Fire Road

Old Haul Fire Road

The Old Haul fire road is a great road for beginners. There are only a couple of short climbs on this road. You will be riding through amazing tree tunnels during most of the 12 mile ride. This is an old Logging Road and does not have too much traffic on it. This ride is basically a trip out to the redwoods and back on the same for road. This ride takes you from the Memorial County park area all the way out to the Portola Redwoods state park. Be sure to bring lots of water as the water levels in the park are extremely low now.
This is a great opportunity to ride with your family out to the redwoods for a picnic. Be sure to dress so as a nice sunny day can turn in to a rainy one in a very short amount of time.
Directions from the corner of Skyline Blvd and CA-84: Follow 84 west about 13.3 miles through La Honda. Take a left Turn on Pescadero Rd. and follow it a mile at which time it forks to the right at the YMCA camp and turns in to Pescadero Creek Rd. Continue on this Rd for 4.1 miles at which time you will make a left on Wurr Rd. Follow this road for about a quarter of a mile at which time you will find parking and the trailhead on your left at 37.273905, -122.285454.
