Borealis Flume Gx Fat Bike — 2016
Borealis Flume GX Fat Bike — 2016. The Borealis Flume knows no boundaries. No, seriously, it can roll over snow, claw sand, and part even the thickest mud. Designed with the new SRAM GX 11-speed drivetrain, hand-built wheels, and a 6066 aluminum frame, the Borealis Flume GX is its own chair lift up and down virtually any trail. One of things we love about an up and coming brand is discovering their unique take on bike design. The Borealis brand, which first made eyes pop-out with their carbon soaked, sub 22-pound Yampa model at the 2013 Interbike in Las Vegas, is the brain child of Steve Kacznmarek. Steve says, Our goal is to produce the lightest, most technically advanced fat bike products while offering our customers the best service. A bold statement, but Borealis has the high-quality goods and experience to back that up. Steve has a background in competitive sailing and he leveraged his knowledge of carbon, aerodynamics and balance to create some of the most advanced and technically capable fat bikes on the market. The Flume GX is expedition-ready. A plush Rock Shox Bluto suspension fork and Cane Creek 40 headset supplies plenty of front end vibration absorption and control. Massive Turnagain hand-built rims and Borealis hubs are equipped with 4-inch wide Husker Du tires. Further adding to the comfort and control are a Race Face Affect stem and 30-tooth crank, and a 740mm wide Borealis carbon handlebar and seatpost. SRAM Centerline disc brakes slow you and hold you whenever put on task and the impressive and innovative SRAM GX 11-speed drivetrain delivers flawless and timely shifts. Finally, you’ll appreciate the attention to detail. A set of Ergon GA2 grips and an Ergon SME30 Evo saddle provide a comfortable platform for your hands and rear end. Each Borealis bike is custom built to spec after your order is placed. As a result, time to shipment may vary.
