Fuji Slm 2.1 29Er Mountain Bike – 2016
Fuji SLM 2.1 29er Mountain Bike – 2016. Need a bike that looks and rides like a dream? While hardtails are fundamentally the same as they have been for years, the design differences between the models and brands are vast, and everything is in the details. The Fuji SLM, now a staple in the Fuji lineup thanks to its popularity and race results, features a podium-climbing C10 super-light carbon frame, with ridiculously clean lines, stealthy internal cable routing, ride-tuned chainstays, and a carbon 142×12 rear dropout. The Fuji SLM 2.1 delivers extraordinary performance and try as you might to ignore its sophisticated design and beauty, you can’t; and neither will anyone else that tries to keep up. Dirt Rag called the redesigned SLM, Fuji’s premium XC carbon hardtail, a thoroughbred in every sense of the word, from its…race-geometry carbon-fiber frame to the crme de la crme components attached thereto. The oversized tapered head tube meets the top tube and downtube in a massive junction to keep the front end stiff for precise steering control — confidence-inspiring when cornering at high speeds. The uniquely shaped, oversized downtube amplifies torsional stiffness and maximizes power transfer. The SLM features a Shimano XT 36/26 2×10 crank that offers the optimum combination of light weight and stiffness to make every pedal rotation count. 430mm hyper-short, asymmetrical chainstays — among the shortest in the industry — supply superior efficiency and nimble handling, especially on tight singletrack. Chainstay-mounted rear brake caliper positions the rear brake in the ideal position between the two stays out of the way, minimi-ing the torsional forces of the rear wheel while braking. Finally, a 142 x 12mm rear thru axle se-curely joins the hub to the frame, strengthening lateral stiffness in the rear triangle for improved pedaling efficiency. The SLM 2.1 is built up with a myriad number of beautiful parts and components. A Shimano XT 11-speed drivetrain is perfect for nearly any XC course. A 36/26-tooth Shimano XT crank is matched to a 11/40 Shimano XT 11-speed cassette to conquer brutal climbs and harrowing descents alike. Finally, a blisteringly-quick set of DT Swiss X1900 Spline wheels with Racing Ralph Evolution tires make short work of tight and twisty singletrack.
