Ktm Aera 29 Comp 29Er Mountain Bike – 2015
KTM Aera 29 Comp 29er Mountain Bike – 2015. KTM isn’t a brand you hear about too often on this side of the Atlantic. But the Austrian company is one of those hidden gems that occasionally emerges out of Europe to remind you why they continue to be the center of cycling. Originally (and still) a maker of high end motorsports bikes, KTM has brought its engineering prowess to bear on some of the most advanced mountain and road bikes around. Tested in the Austrian Alps, proven in racing, and ready to take your performance to the next level. . The KTM Area 29 Comp 29er mountain bike is a high performance race-ready rig that delivers all the goods at a budget-friendly price. The Area 29 Comp is built around a full M:1489 monocoque carbon fiber frame that is stiff, light, and durable so you can get up to speed faster and stay there longer with less effort. The hardtail design improves pedaling efficiency and makes climbing easier–which is great when it’s race time or when you’re out to tame some fast and flowy trail. When things get rocky and rutted though, up front is a RockShox Recon Gold TK 29 fork with a forgiving 100mm of travel and a 15mm thru axle. Shifting duties are handled by Shimano’s excellent Deore 3×10 groupset. With a crisp shifting action, legendary reliability, and excellent design, Deore has benefitted from a large flow of trickle down technology from both the pro-level XTR and competition-level XT groupsets. Braking is handed by the Deore M615 hydraulic disc brakes, which deliver smooth, powerful, easily modulated stopping power in all terrain and weather conditions. Rouding out the build are a set of Mavic XM319 rims laced to Shimano Deore M618 hubs, all wrapped up in Schwalbe Rocket Ron Evo 29×2.25 tubeless tires. Topping the bike is a Selle Italia X1 Flow saddle, perched atop a KTM forged alloy 27.2mm seatpost.
